The crime comedy project Old Timers has been in development for quite a while now but, according to The Hollywood Reporter, has finally landed three stars and a new title. Now officially dubbed Stand Up Guys, the movie has its hooks set in Al Pacino, Alan Arkin and Christopher Walken.
The story focuses on two aging hitmen hired to kill their best friend. They head out to spend one final night on the town before deciding whether or not to take the job.
Newcomer Noah Haidle wrote the screenplay with Fisher Stevens attached to direct. Production is scheduled to being in April.
While the premise for the film is certainly interesting, keep in mind that Al Pacino has consistently failed to deliver an interesting performance for quite some time. Having taken part in the collective humiliation that was Jack and Jill, he has a way to go before his name makes me excited to see a movie again.
